The company has completed the third and important Phase-3 clinical trial of this medicine. The name of the trial was ATTAIN which was given drug and arfornipron. The special thing is that this is the first drug of GLP-1 receptor class which has been introduced as a pill. People suffering from obesity and diabetes involved in the trial were given daily medicines. After this, the results remained shocking.
- In its results, in 72 weeks, many patients lost weight by 10 kg.
- The weight of the group taking fake medicine, which was barely 2 kg, decreased by 2 kg.
- The blood sugar level of patients taking the medicine also decreased rapidly.
Effective equal to injection
Experts say that this drug, which came in the form of a pill, is as effective as the GLP-1 class with injection. Experts believe that this medicine is safe and effective. At the same time, it can be a great option for patients who have trouble taking injections. Apart from reducing weight and sugar, this medicine also showed effect on many heart problems. The trial report revealed that the patient’s blood pressure, cholesterol and triglycerides have improved. Apart from this, the swelling in the body was reduced by about half i.e. 50%. The biggest thing came to the A1C level diabetes-free range of more than 70% of the participants who took more doses.
Big change in the coming time
Till now, injections were considered to be the biggest option for weight loss and control of diabetes, but this new option came as a bullet can make the lives of millions of patients easier in the coming time.
