Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Japan on Friday (29 August 2025) on a four-day visit to two countries (Japan-China). As soon as he reached Japan, he wrote on X (East Twitter) that I have reached Tokyo. India and Japan are constantly strengthening their developmental cooperation. I am keen to meet Prime Minister Ishiba and others during this visit, which will give an opportunity to further strengthen the existing partnerships and find new avenues of cooperation. With reaching Japan, PM Modi met people of Indian origin. Indians welcomed him warmly and Modi also accepted a greeting. Connection with Indian migrants during foreign trips has been an important part of Modi’s diplomacy, which strengthens the People-to-Pipul connect.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to be the main focus on the steps to promote trade and investment relations with Japan and to normalize relations with China. Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Japan and China is taking place at a time when the trade and fee policies of US President Donald Trump have caused tension in Indo-US relations. The Prime Minister expressed confidence before leaving for Japan and China that this journey would take forward national interests and priorities.




Annual summit with Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba
According to the PTI report, Modi had said before leaving that I am confident that my trips to Japan and China will carry forward our national interests and priorities and contribute to building meaningful cooperation in regional and global peace, security and continuous development. Modi will hold an annual summit with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba during a 2 -day visit to Japan. The first day of his visit is expected to promise to double its investment targets in India on behalf of Japan and many agreements are likely to be signed by both sides to increase cooperation in different fields including defense and technology.
