Uttarakhand News: General life affected due to continuous rains in Uttarakhand, heavy losses in Tehri and Rudraprayag

Normal life is being severely affected due to heavy rains in Uttarakhand. Traffic has been disrupted due to debris, boulder and landlords on the Yamunotri and Badrinath highways. The water level of the Yamuna river in the Sainachatti region increased so much that the water started flowing over the motor bridge, due to which the bridge has reached a condition of danger.

The rain water entered many hotels so much that it is coming from one side and leaving from the other side. The first floors of many hotels have been submerged, causing panic among the local people. Local residents Jaipal Singh Rawat, Navdeep Singh, Baldev Singh and Shailendra Singh Rana said that they spent the whole night, because the flow of water could harm at any time.

Road closed in many places due to debris

At present, the rain has stopped and the weather is clear, but the danger is still not averted. The road has been blocked due to heavy debris in Kamda area near Paganala, Bhanerpani, Nandprayag and Gauchar on the Badrinath highway. There are long queues of vehicles on both sides of the highway, and the pilgrims are waiting for the way to open.

The work of removing debris has been started by the administration and movement has started at some places, but debris is still stored on the hill side, which can shut down the route at any time. Pilgrims from Gujarat said that it took them 16 hours to cover the distance from Srinagar to Pipalkoti, as the Badrinath road is in a very dangerous situation.

Mountains are constantly craving

Apart from this, the highway is also completely closed in areas like Kamera and Simli-Gwaladam-Almora Highway near Gauchar, Nauli, Ming Gadera and Kaal Jabar. Due to continuous rains, mountains are cracking and big piles of debris have accumulated on the roads.

District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari said that the work of removing debris in all the affected areas and opening roads is going on a war footing. It is the effort of the administration that normal traffic was restored as soon as possible

Heavy losses in these areas

The weather in Uttarakhand is overshadowing the normal life. Mountainous districts like Tehri and Rudraprayag have caused widespread damage due to excess rainfall, while the Meteorological Department has warned that Uttarakhand is not going to get any relief from rain at the moment.

During the month of August, the continuous rains in the entire state have created a disaster -like situation in many areas. On August 30, in Dehradun, Uttarkashi and Bageshwar districts, there is a possibility of shining lightning with heavy to very heavy rains and roaring.

Orange alert issued in these districts

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for these three districts. At the same time, Tehri Garhwal, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Pithoragarh and Pauri Garhwal district have predicted heavy rains somewhere.

Yellow alert will continue for the remaining 11 districts with Orange Alerts in Dehradun and Bageshwar on 31 August. On September 1, there will be orange alert in Dehradun, Pithoragarh, Nainital and Bageshwar districts, while Yellow alert will continue for the rest of the districts. Orange alert has been issued on September 2 in Chamoli, Bageshwar and Dehradun due to heavy rains.

Meteorological Department asked to be vigilant

According to the Meteorological Department, Yellow alert means to keep an eye on the rain and be cautious. Orange alert means to increase vigilance in view of the danger caused by rain and be prepared for necessary action. In the event of red alert, immediate security measures should be taken.

In the next 24 hours, there is a possibility of heavy and heavy rain in various areas of Bageshwar, Chamoli, Dehradun and Rudraprayag districts like Chakrata, Doiwala, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Sonprayag, Joshimath, Tharali, Kapkot, Vikasnagar.
