India’s traditional medicine Ayurveda is known for its distinct identity abroad. Now for the first time it is happening that an Indian university will teach Ayurveda directly to the students of UK and Germany colleges in their own campus. Let’s know which university has taken this initiative.
Let us tell you that this initiative has been taken by Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Rajasthan Ayurveda University, Jodhpur. The university has signed an MoU (MOO) with the university with the UK Association of Ayurveda Academy, Community Interest Company (CIC) and Germany’s Indo-German Young Leaders Forum for a Responsible Future EV. After this agreement, students sitting abroad will now be able to study Ayurveda online and offline mode.
This will be studied
Students from Britain and Germany will be given a BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) course. Under the scheme, students will first take online class from their country for three and a half years. After this, they will have to come to Jodhpur for one and a half years, where they will be given practical training. Along with this, some special AYUSH syllabus are also being prepared on the basis of the guidelines of NCISM, which will be made available to foreign students.
Teachers will teach both online and offline
According to media reports, special planning has been done for this scheme. The timetable of the professors of Jodhpur University will be made in such a way that there is no effect on the regular class here. Professors will teach online from their campus and will also go to Britain and Germany if needed.
Emphasis on this
Not only education, but also on connecting Ayurveda with modern science, focus has been done. The university has launched a PhD course in collaboration with the Central Ayurvedic Research Council, New Delhi, National Institute of Naturopathy, Pune and Central Homeopathy Council, Jaipur.
The aim of this research program is to connect the ancient knowledge of Ayurveda with new techniques such as genomics and biotechnology. Through this, new medicines and modern treatment methods will be developed. The university believes that if traditional Ayurvedic knowledge is associated with modern science, it can be even more effective.
Easy way to study abroad
Till now, foreign students had to stay in India for a full 5 and a half years to study Ayurveda. But with this new initiative, they will have to come to India only for training. They will be able to do the rest of their studies in their own country.
According to reports, the UK government has received a permission letter for this course, while the process continues in Germany. Apart from this, this program will be officially started after getting permission from the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. Vice -Chancellor of Ayurveda University Prof. PK Prajapati says that this initiative is a new chapter for Ayurveda. Now Ayush knowledge will be able to spread global.
