Whenever the name of Mahindra’s powerful vehicles comes in India, whether it is Scorpio, Thar or XUV700, the image of their strength and design emerges first in people’s minds. But have you ever thought that what is the face behind these vehicles, which made them so attractive and different? That name is Ramkripa Ananthan of India’s well-known car designer, who gave a new dimension to Mahindra’s identity.

Ramkripa Anandan was born in the year 1971. She comes from a family where education and knowledge were considered at the top. Ramkripa started his studies with mechanical engineering. She was a student of BITS Pilani, one of the top institutions in India. From here he got a deep understanding of machines and technology. But his mind was not limited to machines, but also had a passion to give him more beautiful looks. This passion carried them forward and he moved to IDC School of Design, IIT Bombay for design studies.

Entry and initial work in Mahindra

In 1997, Ramkripa Anandan started his career by joining Mahindra & Mahindra. For the first time he worked on the interior design of cars. At that time, he designed the interior of vehicles like Mahindra Bolero and Scorpio. Gradually, his confidence increased and his ideas started becoming a topic of discussion in the Mahindra team. His hard work and thinking brought him to the point where she started leading the entire design team of Mahindra.

Scorpio, Thar and XUV700- New Design New Identity

When Mahindra landed Scorpio on Indian roads, it became not just a car, but a “status symbol”. Ramkripa had a hand behind his powerful look and design. The success of Scorpio brought Mahindra from door to door. After this, when Mahindra introduced the Thar, the vehicle became a dream car of youth. Then I XUV700, which made a great booking record with launch. Ramkripa took a new step after spending about 25 years with Mahindra. She started her own Krux Studio, where she started working on new design thinking and ideas.

Bose lead

Talking about at the moment, Pratap Bose is the face of Mahindra’s design leadership. Pratap Bose came to Mahindra from Tata Motors and has a lot of respect in the world of designing at the global level. Bose studied Industrial Design from India’s Top Design Institute National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad. After this, he from London’s prestigious Royal College of Art. Completed these vehicle design (2003).
