The game of cricket has once again survived ashamed. In the UP T20 League, a case of match fixing in UP T20 League has come up. Let us know that the final (UP T20 League Final) match is to be played on 6 September between Kashi Rudraj and Meerut Mevrix. Before that, the Lucknow police have registered an FIR, under which a team’s manager was offered a hefty amount to fix the match.
1 crore rupees for match fixing
According to the complaint lodged, on August 31, a message was sent to Kashi Rudraj’s manager Arjun Chauhan from ‘@vipss_nakrani’ user ID on Instagram. The person sending the message described himself as a large -scale bookie and offered Arjun an amount of Rs 1 crore to fix the match. Along with this, he also said to give 50 lakh rupees separately.
Instead of accepting the offer, Arjun Chauhan immediately warned BCCI’s Anti Corruption Unit (ACU). ACU continued the conversation through Arjun Chauhan and weaved a trap. During this conversation, the person who described himself as a bookie shared his WhatsApp number. He promised to pay immediately in cash or US dollars. He also said that after the match, he and his companions will be present on the field to give their share to the players. ACU handed it over to the Lucknow Police as evidence.
Lucknow police registered FIR
According to the Times of India, DCP Nipun Agarwal said that a case has been registered under dishonest, illegal betting and other cybercrime laws. It was also told that the accused may have been associated with other people, who tried to fix the match earlier in the tournament.
The UP T20 League started on August 17 and now on 6 September, the final match will be played between Meerut Mevrix and Kashi Rudraj.
