Ever since the schedule of Asia Cup 2025 has been released, India vs Pakistan Match has been making the center of discussion. The Indo-Pak match is to be played on 14 September, due to which there has been a ruckus in the Indian Parliament. Now BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia has released a big statement about this match to be held amidst controversies. Saikia clearly says that he fully supports the government’s decision.
During the talks with the news agency PTI, Devjit Saikia said, “The attitude of BCCI is very clear that we give full support to the decision of the Government of India. The Government of India has made a policy on it, which we have to follow. We also have no avoiding following this policy.”
It was the date of April 22, when 26 people lost their lives in the Pahalgam terror attack. After that, the Indian Army, while running Operation Sindoor, destroyed many bases of terrorists in Pakistan. Since then, the relations between India and Pakistan have come in a worse condition. Due to the Pahalgam terror attack, there was a protest against playing matches with Pakistan all over India.
BCCI was also severely criticized
The Asia Cup 2025 was hosted by BCCI i.e. India. The matches were to be played in India, but before the Champions Trophy 2025, it was agreed to get the next matches between India and Pakistan’s cricket boards on neutral venue. So when the BCCI agreed to organize the Asia Cup matches in the UAE, that decision was also strongly criticized. The Asia Cup match of India and Pakistan is going to be held on 14 September.
