Amritsar Temple Grenade Attack: NIA team arrested absconding terrorist Sharanjit

A Khalistani terrorist Sharanjit has been arrested by the NIA team from Gaya in Bihar. The terrorist was absconding for a long time and he was hiding in Sherghati in Gaya for a long time. After the information received by the NIA team, he raided late Friday and arrested him from Gopalpur in Sherghati.

Sharanjit Kumar is the main accused

The NIA team and the local police station Sherghati police have raided the National Highway near Gopalpur village and arrested them. The NIA said that in March 2025, the main terrorist accused Sharanjit Kumar alias Shani has been arrested in the Amritsar temple grenade attack case, who hails from Bhani Bangar village in Kandia district of Batala in Gurdaspur district of Punjab.

On 15 March 2025, Sharanjit had an active role in the conspiracy of a terrorist attack and executing it. Two bike riders were attacked with a grenade, including Gursidak Singh and Vishal Gill. The NIA investigation revealed the conspiracy of the Handlarrows internationally in Europe, America and Canada.

On the night of the Thakurdwara temple on the night of March 15, 2025, explosives were thrown on the first floor, causing a part of the wall to damage and broke the glass of the windows. After the attack, the Punjab Police identified Gursidak Singh and Vishal. On March 17, when the police caught him, he started firing on the police, injuring a head constable. Gursidak Singh was killed in a counter -police firing.

The place was built in the line hotel

Arrested terrorist Sharanjit Kumar received a grenade consignment on 1 March 2025 at Batala, Gurdaspur, which was assigned a grenade to Gursidak and Vishal, two days before the attack. After the attack, he used to conduct his activities by changing disguise and sometimes by making a truck driver and sometimes other identity. He had built a hideout at the line hotel on GT Road and was active from there. After the arrest, the NIA team has left for Chandigarh with them.
