Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has urged the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to give 4 Ranji teams to Uttar Pradesh. He explained the reason for this to the population of 25 crores of UP and due to having four teams, the youth will be able to get more opportunities. The Chief Minister said in the program organized before the UP T20 League final match.

UP gets 4 Ranji team – CM Yogi

CM Yogi said, “UP players should get a platform to showcase their talent. This state has prepared many international level players. Since UP is a state with a large population of 25 crores, I demand from BCCI that UP gets at least four teams.”

Some states including Mumbai and Gujarat have more than one team, but the demand for more than one team from Uttar Pradesh has been going on for a long time. Let us know that the Chief Minister has made this demand under the chairmanship of BCCI’s Interim President Rajiv Shukla.

Former Ranji cricketer Mohsin Raza has also been demanding more than one team in domestic cricket for UP for a long time. He also said that UP T20 League is a great tournament for the youth. He also said that the government is building many stadiums in the state.

New round of sports in UP

CM Yogi said that extensive efforts are being made to promote sports in the state and a big stadium is also being prepared in Varanasi. 70 percent of his work has been completed. At the same time, an international level stadium is also being constructed in Ayodhya and Gorakhpur. At the same time, the ground is being prepared in a university of Meerut. Apart from this, a small stadium is being prepared in almost all the states.
