Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur has taken a new initiative in the field of education, which is being discussed throughout the country. Actually, IIT Jodhpur has created a new model for studies. It has been named Hindi model, which will make it easier for Hindi medium students to pass IITs. This model has been prepared under the leadership of Dr. Avinash Kumar Aggarwal, director of the Institute, due to which the students of the first year are being taught engineering in their mother tongue Hindi. The purpose of this model is to make the language a hindrance in education, but an associate medium.
Students of Hindi medium will benefit
Dr. Avinash Aggarwal said that most of the students taking admission in IIT come through Hindi medium. In such a situation, they have difficulty in studying and writing in English-based education system, making notes and working in the lab. This reduces the confidence of students and they are left behind many times. In view of this, Jodhpur IIT developed such education model, in which students are being taught in their understanding language.
Focus on English also
Under this initiative, students coming in the First Year are also taught engineering subjects in English as well as English. Also, extra classes are being run to make experts in English language. The program started a year ago, whose positive results have been received.
The scheme will be implemented in the whole country
In view of the success of IIT Hindi model, preparations are being made to implement it across the country. Dr. Aggarwal informed that this model was appreciated in all the IITs meeting of the country and now it is being planned to implement it in 23 IITs of India. Under this scheme, students will be taught in their mother tongue. For example…
- Students of Bengal will be taught in Bangla.
- Students of Karnataka will be taught in Kannada.
- Students of Tamil Nadu will be taught in Tamil.
- Students of Rajasthan will be taught in Hindi.
- Students of Maharashtra will be taught in Marathi.
In this direction, the Hindi model has been implemented in Rajasthan, the result of which is said to be very encouraging. This will remove the hindrance of language and students will be able to perform self -sufficient and perform better in higher education. Dr. Aggarwal said that engineers are being prepared all over the world and they are getting ready by studying in their regional language with engineers English, India had received the Nobel Prize 100 years ago, after this, it has not been received till today because there are many types of languages in India.
Priority to Guru’s role
Dr. Aggarwal said that the quality of education is directly related to the teacher’s efficiency. Keeping this in mind, the Jodhpur IIT started a special program, under which 12th pass students are selected and they are given a four-year BSC-B.Ed course. Trained gurus will give better educational support to students from 8th to 12th. The goal of this initiative is to increase the number and quality of teachers in rural and semi -urban areas, so that education can be spread on a large scale.
