Reliance’s relief campaign in flood -hit Punjab, emphasis on saving shelter and livestock

Reliance Flood Relief Operations: A large -scale relief campaign is being conducted by Reliance Industries to deal with the disaster in flood -hit Punjab. In this, teams are working in collaboration with local authorities to provide immediate help in the most affected districts like Amritsar and Sultanpur Lodhi.

It has been reported from the company that its ten-formula human scheme includes dry ration kits for ten thousand families, one thousand most affected family voucher-based assistance of Rs 5,000 and supply for community kitchens. Along with this, portable water filters are also being installed to provide safe drinking water inside the villages of water.

Relief for homeless families

Terpes, mosquito nets, rope and bed emergency shelter kits are being distributed for displaced families due to floods. Apart from this, health awareness session, cleaning of contaminated water sources and sanitation kits are also being provided to reduce the risk of diseases.

Special attention is also being paid to livestock aid. For a long time, a huge crisis has been seen in cattle due to waterlogging. Reliance Foundation and its Animal Welfare Initiative ‘Vantara’ have set up livestock camps with the Department of Animal Husbandry of the state. Medicines, vaccine and fodder are being provided here. More than 3,000 silver bundles are being distributed for about 5,000 cattle. Vantara’s team is also treating injured animals, rescue work and safe disposal of dead animals, so that the infection does not spread.

Constant relief work continues

Reliance said that its teams are working round the clock with district administration, panchayats and NDRF. The Jio Punjab team has restored network services in flood affected areas, while Reliance Retail is sending 21 essential commodities ration and sanitation kits in collaboration with local panchayats.

Anant Ambani, director of Reliance Industries, said, “Our heart is with the people of Punjab in this difficult time. The families have lost a sense of home, livelihood and security. The whole Reliance family is standing with them and providing care for both food, water, shelter and animals.” The company has said that it will continue to continue rehabilitation and relief operations in the state in the coming weeks.
