Who is the Kulman worn
Kulman Ghising was born in an ordinary family in Nepal. Since childhood, he was troubled by the problem of power cuts, which was common in his village. This darkness inspired him to do something big in the energy field. After completing engineering studies, Kurtman started his services in Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). In 2016, when he became the Managing Director of NEA, Nepal was struggling with heavy power cuts. Industries were stalled and life was disturbed. Kurtman accepted this challenge and made revolutionary changes in power generation, distribution and management.
How to become a hero among the public
Kurtman banned power theft, took strict steps against corruption and promoted hydroelectric projects. Nepal’s power generation capacity increased from 856 MW to 3500 MW. This achievement made him the hero of the public. People started calling him ‘Kul Maan’, because he brought respect and light for the community. Not only this, the credit for the rejuvenation of Nepal Electricity Board goes to worrying, he took over this work and brought NEA, which was struggling with a loss of Rs 900 crore, within three years. In March this year, KP Sharma Oli’s government made Hitendra Dev Shakya the Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Board.
Removed from post in March
In 2025, his tenure was only 4 months left, after which the angry public came out on the streets. People demanded his restoration on the road, during which there was a conflict with the police. Now that there is a leadership crisis in Nepal, people are looking for a face that is honest.
