Nitin gadkari: Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has proposed to start flash-charging-based electric articulated bus system on highways being built in all parts of the country. Its purpose is to strengthen public transportation in all cities of India. Gadkari mentioned this at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) 24th courtie Seth Smriti Lecture.
He said, it is very important to change the public transport system in the country. My wish is to create a new public transportation system in the new highways connecting cities.
Will not spend hours in charging
Flash-charging electric bus system will be used in automatic fast-charging stations made at bus stops. With this, the battery will be charged immediately while climbing the passenger. Due to this, there will be no need to stop for charging at the bus depot for long, so that the buses will continue to run on the busiest roads. Hitachi Energy and Siemens together have prepared it for high-capacity bus routes.
Buses fare will be less
Gadkari also informed that the expenses coming on this new bus system will be less than metro buses, while the fare will be reduced by 30 percent against diesel -powered buses. He informed that this electric bus system on highways like Delhi-Dehradun, Bangalore-Chennai and Delhi-Jaipur will work as a fast and affordable option and it will also be good for the environment.
Flash charging buses specialty
- Ultra-Fast Flash Charging Technology is its biggest feature. With this, a distance of up to 40 kilometers from just 15 seconds can be comfortable.
- Its second biggest feature is that more and more passengers will be able to travel by sitting in AC. It will have the capacity of 135 passengers seated. That is, the journey will also be easy and there will be no problem of the crowd. The bus will have reserved seats for disabled passengers and will also be helpful for them.
- Separate counters of tea or coffee will also be made in the bus. This will not cause much trouble for the passengers in long distance journey.
