Chocolate Heart Risk: Every year on September 13, International Chocolate Day is celebrated, on hearing the name, everyone has a smile on his face. It is not only delicious but also helps in relaxing the brain. But many scientific research has made it clear that if it is eaten in large quantities, then it can cause heart diseases and heart attacks.

Benefits of dark chocolate

According to Harvard Th Chan School of Public Health, eating limited amounts of dark chocolate provides antioxidants and flavenols, which improve blood circulation and keep the arteries healthy. This is the reason that small amount of dark chocolate is considered beneficial for heart health.

Similarly, European Prospective Investigation INTO CANCER (EPIC) -Norfolk Study, which included about 20,000 people, shows that those who regularly found chocolate and strokes were found to be less than those who used to eat chocolate at all.

Disadvantages of eating more chocolate

1. Threat of obesity and calories

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the consumption of more calories and sugar is the main reason for obesity. Milk and white chocolate are very high sugar and fat. By eating more daily, weight increases rapidly and obesity increases the risk of heart attack.

2. Cholesterol level enlargement

The American Heart Association (AHA) says that more sugar and saturated fat foods increase LDL (poor cholesterol) in the body. This can accumulate plaque in the artery and stop blood flow, which causes a major cause of heart attack. If you are very fond of eating chocolate and eat 500 grams of chocolate a day, then the risk of heart attack increases significantly.

3. Diazon of diabetes and blood sugar

According to the report of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), consumption of more sugar increases diabetes and complications associated with it. Eating more sweet chocolate increases blood sugar rapidly, which can cause heavy damage to diabetes patients.

4. Blood pressure imbalance

According to a study published in Journal of Hypertension, eating a large amount of sweet and fat rich chocolate can have a negative effect on blood pressure. It can be dangerous for those who already have high BP.

How many chocolate should be eaten?

According to the American Heart Association, we should limit our “added sugar” to only 5 to 10 percent of everyday calories. This means that if you want to eat chocolate, it is better to eat some pieces of dark chocolate (at least 70 percent cocoa) a week. A small amount of dark chocolate is beneficial for both your heart and mind. But if you eat more chocolate daily, especially milk and white chocolate, then it can increase the risk of obesity, high BP, diabetes and even heart attack.
