In its historic judgment, the Supreme Court made it mandatory for all teachers teaching from class 1 to 8 to pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). This decision of the Supreme Court is creating a crisis for millions of teachers in Uttar Pradesh. It is believed that it will affect the primary and junior teachers of UP, out of which about 2 lakh TET will not be able to pass. At the same time, BJP leader and MLC Devendra Pratap Singh has met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath regarding this decision of the Supreme Court. He has also said to file a review petition in this case.
BJP MLC Devendra Pratap Singh has also given a letter to CM Yogi. In which he has written to file a review petition in the Supreme Court, saying that the Supreme Court has made it mandatory to pass the TET (TET) examination for councilors in the decision passed by the Supreme Court (Civil Appeal No.-1685/2025 Anjuman Ishat-e-Talim Trust vs. Maharashtra State and others). He further wrote in his letter- “It is no longer eligible for TET exam on intermediate, BPED/CPE, B.Ed (primary level). This decision of the court has threatened the future of 1.5 lakh teachers and their families of Uttar Pradesh. The teacher is having deep disagreement and despair in the community.
