Rekha Gupta government of Delhi has decided that 50 thousand new beneficiaries will be added to ‘Old Age Pension Scheme’. This work will be held in ‘Seva Pakhwara’ held on the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 17 September.

It is being said by the government that the enrollment drive will ensure that more and more elderly are included in this scheme and they do not have to wait for anyone to fulfill their needs. They should get financial help from the government itself.

The Social Welfare Department will start the enrollment process for 50,000 elderly beneficiaries under the ‘Old Age Pension Scheme’ at Indira Gandhi Stadium on 17 September.

Monthly pension also increases
Apart from this, monthly pension for senior citizens is also being increased. The beneficiaries of 60 years or older will now get 2500 rupees instead of 2 thousand rupees. At the same time, pension for beneficiaries of 70 years and above is being increased from Rs 2500 to Rs 3000.

With this, the beneficiaries of the Scheduled Castes and Tribes community will be given an additional pension of Rs 500 every month.

Backlog completed in 7 months
According to the report of the news agency PTI, the last time registration process took place in November 2024, when many Applekesh pending and this affair was delayed. It took more than seven months for the officials to settle the backlog. All pending registrations were completed by June 2025.

CM Rekha Gupta made this appeal
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has appealed to the eligible senior citizens to apply on time to avail this scheme. All the eligible elders and disabled were urged by the CM to come forward and take advantage of this scheme of the government.

For information, let us know that at present, the Delhi government is giving pension to about 3.8 lakh women, 4.6 lakh elderly and 1.3 lakh disabled people. 1140 crore rupees are spent every year to complete these schemes.
