Hike App, once called “India’s own WhatsApp”, has now been completely closed. The Startup started by Kavin Bharti Mittal, son of Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal of Bharti Airtel, was launched in 2016 as a Messaging App. However in 2021 Hike shut down its Messaging service and started the Rush App, shifting towards Real-Money Gaming (RMG). The Rush App included 14 Money Based Mobile Games with Web3 techniques, giving users a chance to play-to-Earn. This project received investment from legendary companies like Softbank, Tencent, Bharti, Foxconn. But recently, due to the ban on RMG gaming in India, the company had to close the operations. After Launch in the US, the growth was good in the beginning – 10 x ARPU and 2X better Retention – But Sustainable Growth could not be done. Company took a final decision that the cost of such a large reset is no longer practical. With this, the journey of Hike ended officially.
