The government’s new GST cut has had a direct impact on the prices of cars. Now many popular models in the market have become cheaper than before, which has brought great relief to the customers. Especially the vehicles of companies like Maruti, Tata and Mahindra are proving to be even more value for money. Apart from this, companies like Skoda, Hyundai and Toyota have also cut the prices of their cars. Because of this, customers are benefiting in all segments from small hatchbacks to big SUVs.
Maruti and Tata vehicles became affordable
- Maruti Suzuki has reduced the prices of its affordable cars. Alto K10 has now become cheaper already and its price can get a benefit of about 40,000 to 50,000 rupees. WagonR’s entry-level variants have also become more than 60,000 cheaper. At the same time, the Tiago hatchback of Tata Motors has also got the benefit of GST cut, due to which it has become even more budget friendly.
Mahindra’s heavy savings on SUVs
- In the SUV segment, Mahindra’s Bolero and Bolero Neo are giving the most benefits to customers. Their prices have declined by about Rs 1.27 lakh. Apart from this, Mahindra’s new XUV 3xo has also become a much better deal. About Rs 1.4 lakh is being benefited on petrol model and up to Rs 1.56 lakh on diesel variants.
Skoda, Hyundai and Toyota also not far behind
- Talking about the premium segment, cars like Skoda’s Kodiaq, Slavia and Kushaq have now become cheaper from Rs 63,000 to Rs 3.28 lakh. Hyundai has also reduced prices on its popular vehicles such as Creta and Venue, making them even more economical. Toyota’s Fortuner, Legender and Innova Crysta are also getting big savings, due to which this brand is now preparing to reach more customers.
Which car segments benefited?
- The GST cut has benefited the most cars whose engine capacity is up to 1,500 cc. It includes sub-4 meter petrol and diesel cars. At the same time, the prices of SUVs with engine more than 1,500 cc have also been seen to be reduced. However, it is important to keep in mind that due to the transport expenses of auto companies and the profits of the dealer, this advantage does not fully reach the customers. Nevertheless, the prices of cars are being seen to be about 9%.
