During the excavation of an under -construction building in Hong Kong, a bomb of a 100 -year -old second world war has been found. The weight of the bomb was said to be around 450 kg and 1.5 meters in length. The security forces termed the bomb as extremely dangerous and immediately started the disposable campaign.
After the news of the bomb was received, the administration immediately took action. The entire area was evacuated and about 6000 people were sent to safe places. 18 nearby buildings were also evacuated. The police investigated door-to-door so that no person is left behind.

In the year 2018 too, a similar bomb was found in Van Chai district, due to which 1200 people had to be removed and it took 20 hours to neutralize the bomb.

Not only Hong Kong, unique bombs (UXBs) are still threatened in many parts of the world. In June 2025, three American bombs were found in Germany, due to which 20,000 people had to be removed. According to the report of Diche Velle in Europe, the WWII bombs are still a big problem. In the countries of Asia, Vietnam, Laos, Gaza and Ukraine also pose a threat to the lives of people buried under the ground.

Hong Kong police say that even while destroying the bomb, there is a danger of its explosion. Because of this, the disposal team has to work very carefully. This type of bomb requires both long time and expertise.

The World War II began on 1 September 1939 and ended on 2 September 1945. The war began with the invasion of Poland on behalf of Germany and officially ended after surrender from Japan.
