Blinking Less While Watching Reels: Nowadays, the craze of watching reels on social media is speaking up. Scrolling on the mobile screen for hours is not known time. Children, young or elderly everyone is spending most of their time to watch the phone screen, but it is very dangerous for your eyes. Continuous viewing screen is halved to blink the eyelid, due to which the moisture of the eyes is decreasing and many serious problems are taking birth.

At the meeting of Asia Pacific Academy of Opthalmology and All India Opthalmological Society held in Delhi, experts considered it serious and told that long -term screening problems like dry eye syndrome, myopia, headache, sleep problem and bickering are increasing.

The habit of blinking an eyelid from watching reels

Dr. Harbansh Lal, chairman of this event committee, said that the reels have been designed in such a way that the attention of the people is not stray for a long time. Therefore, people keep watching on the screen without blinking an eye for a long time. Watching the reel reduces the eye to about 50%. This can cause problems like dryness in the eyes, weak eyesight and headache.

Experts say that if this habits are not controlled, then it can weaken the eyesight. Apart from this, children are becoming a victim of myopia at an early age to see mobiles for hours.

Myopia is such a dangerous disease

Referring to a research, Dr. Harbansh Lal said that by 2050, 50% of the world’s population can be hit by Myopia. He told that earlier the number of sight used to get stable for 21 years, but now the screen time changes till the age of 30 years. Due to this, problems like digital eye strain, bickering and weak eye can increase in students, professionals.

Why is it necessary to blink an eye

Blinking is very important to maintain the moisture of the eyes. In general, we blink an eye 15-20 times in a minute, but when we focus on the mobile or computer screen, it reduces to 5-7 times per minute. Due to the frequent viewing reels and short videos, our focus becomes so focused on the screen that we forget to blink the eyelid, due to which the eyes start drying up.

How to save eyes

Adopt 20-20-20 Rules-See 20 feet away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes.

Get into the habit of blinking an eyelid- while watching the screen, try to blink the eyelid again and again.

Apply blue light filter- turn on night mode or blue light filter on mobile and laptop.

Reduce screen time- Take a digital brake of 1-2 hours a day.

Use eye drops- To maintain the moisture of the eyes, take the i drops with the advice of a doctor.
