4 people died in violent protest

Officials said that Sonam Wangchuk was arrested two days after the violent protest by supporters of the movement to demand the expansion of separate state status and the sixth schedule of the Constitution. Four people were killed and 90 others were injured in this demonstration.

Sonam Wangchuk accused of inciting violence

According to the PTI report, the officials gave information that Wangchuk was detained by the police team led by Ladakh DGP SD Singh Jamwal at 2.30 pm on Friday. The Ministry of Home Affairs attributed Wangchuk, a senior member of the Leh Apex Body (LAB), who has been leading the movement in support of demands for the last five years in collaboration with the Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA).

However, Wangchuk, who is leading the hunger strike in support of the demands, denied the allegations. He condemned the violence and also ended the fast for two weeks after the violence on Wednesday.
