India won the toss and chosen the first bowling. Hardik Pandya is not playing the final match. Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana have also been seated outside, while Rinku Singh has finally got a chance to play for the final match. On the other hand, the Pakistan team has not made any changes in their playing eleven. This is the first time in the 41-year history of the Asia Cup when India and Pakistan are face to face in the finals.
Why Hardik Pandya is not playing?
Hardik Pandya has not received much batting in the 2025 Asia Cup, but has been very effective in bowling. In fact, Hardik went out of the field due to the cramp after throwing an over in the Super-4 round match against Sri Lanka. He has not been able to recover from that injury, as a result he has to sit out of the finals.
Arshdeep Singh had allowed Sri Lanka to score only 2 runs in the super over in the last match. Still, he did not get a chance in the final-11 of the final. Rinku Singh will be playing the first match at the Asia Cup 2025 and Shivam Dubey has returned to the playing XI.
India’s playing XI: Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav (captain), Tilak Verma, Sanju Samson (wicketkeeper), Shivam Dubey, Rinku Singh, Akshar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Jaspreet Bumrah, Varun Chakraborty
Pakistan’s playing XI: Sahibzada Farhan, Fakhar Zaman, Sam Ayub, Salman Aga (captain), Hussain Talat, Mohammad Haris (wicketkeeper), Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, Abrar Ahmed
Statistics testifying to India’s victory
In the Asia Cup 2025 itself, the Indian team has defeated Pakistan twice. India won by 7 wickets in the group stage and 6 wickets in the Super-4 round match. At the same time, in T20 International cricket, India and Pakistan have come face to face a total of 15 times, out of which India has won 12 times and Pakistan only 3 times.
