Listen good news! If you are looking for school for your child or you are worried about good studies, then take a sigh of relief. The cabinet meeting led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the opening of 57 new Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) across the country. These schools will not only provide quality education, but the dreams of millions of children will also get new wings. For this, a budget of Rs 5862 crore has been announced, which will be spent in the next 9 years.
What will be spent on what things?
2585 crore will be spent on building and infrastructure. This means that all things will be made modern classrooms, labs and playgrounds. Apart from this, 3277 crore rupees will be spent on the salary of teachers to books etc. These schools will be ‘Adarsh Vidyalayas’ according to NEP 2020. Apart from this, Balawatika (for 3-6 year old children) will be included for the first time. In these, learning in sports and games will be all will be increased creativity etc.
Where will these schools open?
It is worth noting that the demand of Kendriya Vidyalayas is in full swing. At present, 1288 schools are running in the country, in which 13.62 lakh children study. In December 2024, 85 new approved were approved and now 57 new Kendriya Vidyalayas have been approved.
- 20 schools: In the districts where there was never a Kendriya Vidyalaya.
- 14 Schools: In aspiring districts, where the speed of development is slow.
- 4 Schools: In Naxalite affected areas.
- 5 Schools: In North-East and Hill areas.
In total, these 57 schools will be opened in 17 states and central ruled regions. Let us know that this scheme running since 1962 was started for central employees, army and paramilitary children, but now every child is getting benefit.
How much will be the benefit?
- Seats for students: Every school will have 1520 seats, from which a total of 86,640 children will be able to study.
- Jobs explosion: 4617 permanent posts from 57 schools will be of teachers and staff. Apart from this, thousands of people will get employment to build schools.
- Results remain fantastic: The CBSE score is always excellent in Kendriya Vidyalayas. Apart from this, there are also modern teaching and facilities. This is the reason that 913 schools have already got the tag of PM Shri.
Why is this decision being considered a game changer?
This is a step to strengthen NEP 2020. These schools will also have multi-language, vocational skills, holistic growth etc. Actually, after Kovid epidemic has increased the focus on education and this step will progress in this direction.
