A week after the violence erupted after the prayers of Jumme in Bareilly, the district administration has tightened the security of sensitive areas before this Friday mass prayer.
The District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police were seen patrolling the city with heavy police force since morning, while the clerics of Ala Hazrat Dargah appealed to the residents to maintain peace.
On Friday, there was a clash between the local people and the police in the city after the proposed protests over the controversy related to the ‘I Love Muhammad’ poster. Many people were injured in the clashes, while the police had registered 10 FIRs for the violence and registered a case against hundreds of people. So far, more than 70 people have been arrested, including Maulvi Tauqir Raza Khan, his colleagues and some relatives.
District Magistrate Avinash Singh said that senior police and administration officials visited sensitive areas on Thursday night and interacted with local residents who assured to maintain communal harmony.

Bareilly divided into four super zones and eight zones
Senior Superintendent of Police Anurag Arya said that the city has been divided into four super zones and eight zones for strict monitoring and four IPS officers have been called from other districts for special monitoring.
Heavy police and paramilitary forces appeared outside major mosques including Nine Mahal Mosque, Ala Hazrat Dargah Mosque, Azam Nagar Mosque of Kotwali area and Baradari Masjids. Drone cameras were also monitored.
Markets like Roadways Bazaar, Qutubkhana, Shivaji Marg, Alamgirganj, Sarafa, Sazamganj and Fort Bazaar opened on Friday, but they did not have a movement like normal days. Ban on internet is also going on in the city.
Meanwhile, Sajjadanshin of Ala Hazrat Dargah, Badrush Sharia Mufti Ahsan Mian urged Muslims to perform prayers peacefully and return home.
He said in an appeal, ‘Do not pay attention to rumors. Peace will have to be maintained at all costs.
In this sequence, Maulvi announced that the annual ‘Julus-e-Gausia’ to be evacuated on the occasion of Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani on the occasion of ‘Eleventh Sharif’ will not be taken out in view of the current situation this year. On the other hand, after the Bareilly violence, there is also alert in Sangam city Prayagraj. The police and administration breathed a sigh of relief from the prayers of Juma in other mosques, including Jama Masjid at Chowk, which were performed safely. The police is in alert mode in view of the prayers, idol immersion and Bharat Milap. Police and PAC flag marches have been conducted in Atala and Chowk areas.
Apart from this, police vigil has also been increased in sensitive other rural areas. According to DCP City Manish Kumar Shandilya, the police force has been deployed at every point. Social sites are also being monitored so that a person is not able to spoil the atmosphere through social media. If a person spreads a rumor, strict action will be taken against him under the law.
The prayers of Juma were performed in a peaceful atmosphere in Moradabad. Amidst tight security arrangements, the police performed the prayers and the police took a march on the streets and took stock of security. Prayers made in the presence of CO Sunita Dahiya and regional police were monitored with drone cameras. Police were stationed at Jama Masjid intersection in Moradabad after the Bareilly incident.
