On October 2, Dalit youth Hariom was beaten to death in Rae Bareli district of Uttar Pradesh on suspicion of theft. In this case, Pinky, wife of the deceased Hariom, while talking to the media, said that “My husband was brutally killed. They caught him and kill him. I want the culprits to get the same punishment, as given to my husband. He has sought help from the government.”
At the same time, the father of the deceased Hariom Valmiki said that my son was murdered. We received information on 2 October. Our demand is that the killers should be sentenced to death and their houses should be dropped from bulldozers. While the sister of the deceased told that we got information on the 2nd. On the 2nd, I was in the hospital when my sister -in -law called me in the morning. He told that my brother is being tied and beaten at one place, my brothers were not thieves.
In this case, Samajwadi Party MP from Faizabad (Ayodhya) Awadhesh Prasad has reacted sharply and targeted the BJP government of the state. He said that since the BJP government came to the Center and the state, atrocities on Dalits have increased. The SP MP said that the rule of law in the state has ended, the forest rule is maintained. The wife and family of the deceased have demanded a death sentence to the accused. The police have arrested five named accused in this case so far.
SP MP Awadhesh Prasad’s response
The SP MP said that ever since the BJP has come to power in the Center and Uttar Pradesh, the rule of law has ended and the jungle rule is maintained. Atrocities and murders on Dalits are happening on a large scale. If the data from independence till now is collected, then the maximum atrocities on Dalits have been in BJP rule. Such incidents are happening from village to village, police and law are unable to do anything.
Five arrested so far
ASP Sanjeev Kumar Sinha said that an FIR was registered in the case of murder of a youth on suspicion of theft and 5 accused have been sent to jail. Constant raids are going on to catch the remaining accused. He has appealed to the people to maintain peace in this matter.
