Mutual Fund Scheme Sbi Magnum Taxgain Created A Fund of Rs 1 4 Crore with a Sip of Rs 1000

Mutual Fund Investment: SBI Long Term Equity Fund is one of India’s oldest equity Linked Savings Scheme (ELSS). It was earlier known as SBI Magnum Taxgen Scheme. This 32-year-old tax saving fund also has a 3-year lock-in period and tax benefit for investors. In this scheme, investors can collect funds of more than Rs 1.5 crore from an investment of Rs 1000 every month through Systematic Investment Plan (SIP).

The scheme started in the year 1993

Launched on 31 March 1993, the fund initially offered the IDCW option (first dividend option), while the growth option was later introduced on 7 May 2007. The scheme has been benchmark in the Nifty India Consumption Total Return Index (TRI).

As of 31 March 2025, assets (AUMs) under the management of this scheme increased to Rs 27,730.33 crore. Dinesh Balchandran is the fund manager of this scheme since September 2016. The scheme mainly invests in equity and equity -related equipment, which has an allocation of more than 90 %, while the money market instruments have up to 10 % allocation.

As of April 3, 2025, the NAV of SBI Long Term Equity Fund Direct Plan-Goth is Rs 437.78, its expansion ratio has been 0.95 %.

In the last one year, the fund has given a return of 7.79 percent, while it has given an average annual return of up to 16.43 percent from the beginning, which is doubling investors’ money every 3 years. In this, asset allocation is specially done in financial, technology, energy, healthcare and mining sector.

Its top-5 holdings include HDFC Bank Limited, Reliance Industries Limited, ICICI Bank Limited, Bharti Airtel Limited and Hexavire Technologies Limited. In this scheme, you will gather funds of up to Rs 1.4 crore in a period of 32 years from SIP of Rs 1000 every month.
