At the same time, this price is slightly lower in small cities or tier-2 areas, which makes a difference in total cost. After purchasing the land, the next large part comes to the construction.
This includes seating arrangements for viewers, roof structure, pitch construction, drainage systems, floodlights, digital screens, sound systems and broadcasting features. Apart from this, crores of rupees are also spent on designing, architectural approval and safety standards.
Today’s stadiums are not just a place to watch matches, but they have also become corporate and entertainment space. Therefore, high-class facilities like VIP lounge, corporate box, restaurant, media center and dressing room are added to them.
A small cricket ground, where only local matches are played, it costs 1 lakh to 1.5 lakh annual maintenance to prepare a simple turf.
At the same time, if we talk about a big international stadium, then it can cost from 400 crores to 1,000 crores.
Recently, a budget of 1650 crores has been fixed for a new cricket stadium in Bengaluru, which will be counted in the country’s most expensive sports infrastructure.
