Israel and Hamas have agreed on the first phase of a peace deal after US mediation. US President Donald Trump announced this through a social media post on Thursday (October 9). The United Nations has also reacted on this matter. UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has welcomed the peace plan. He also said that the hostages should be released soon with respect.
“I welcome the announcement of Donald Trump’s proposed agreement to ensure a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages,” UN Secretary-General Guterres said via email. America, Qatar, Egypt and Turkey have made it successful. I appreciate his diplomatic efforts.
He said, “I appeal to all concerned parties to fully comply with all the terms of this agreement.” All hostages should be released with dignity. Permanent ceasefire should be ensured. This struggle must now stop forever.

UN promised to support
Guterres said, “The supply of humanitarian aid and essential goods to Gaza should flow without any problems. People’s pain has to end forever. The United Nations will fully cooperate in making this agreement successful.
