The Nobel Peace Prize 2025 has been announced. This year’s winner has been María Corina Machado of Venezuela, who has been honored for her contribution to peacekeeping and reducing global conflicts. US President Donald Trump is not this year’s Nobel Peace Prize winner. This award is given every year to those individuals or institutions who have made significant contributions to global peace, human rights and conflict resolution.
This year US President Donald Trump could not win the Nobel Peace Prize. There was long talk about Trump being nominated to mediate in the Ukraine war and other international conflicts, but ultimately the jury decided to award this year’s award to Machado.
Maria Corina Machado did this big work
Maria Corina Machado has shown indomitable courage and determination to defend democracy despite the ever-increasing dictatorship in Venezuela. He studied engineering and business and also worked in business for a short time, but his real identity lay in serving the society and the country. In 1992 he founded the Atenea Foundation, which works to improve the lives of children living on the streets of Caracas.
Member of the National Assembly elected in 2010
Ten years later, he played a key role in founding Súmate, which promotes free and fair elections in the country and trains people on the electoral process. In 2010, he was elected a member of the National Assembly, where he won with a record number of votes, but in 2014, the government removed him from the post. Even after this, Machado did not give up and led the Vente Venezuela opposition party. In 2017, he helped found the Soy Venezuela coalition, which unites pro-democracy forces across political differences.
