Earth trembled again in Philippines, 8 died due to earthquake a day before, know what is the situation now

Another 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck the country’s southern coast late Saturday, a day after two major earthquakes killed at least seven people in the southern Philippines. According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the quake occurred at a depth of about 59 kilometers and its epicenter was about 10 kilometers away from Kagwaite city.

Two major earthquakes caused devastation
Earlier on Friday, two major earthquakes occurred within a few hours of the coastal areas of the southern Philippines, in which at least 8 people died. The first earthquake was of 7.4 magnitude, which caused landslides and due to fear of tsunami, people living in coastal areas had to move to safe places.

The second blow also came on the same fault line
The second earthquake was of 6.8 magnitude, after which local authorities again issued a tsunami warning. This shock also occurred at a depth of 37 kilometers away from Manay City (Davao Oriental Province) on the fault line called Philippine Trench. Teresito Bacolcol, head of the Philippine Institute of Seismology and Vulcanology, gave this information.

Difficult to estimate loss in darkness
Philippines official Besinga said that due to night time and darkness, the exact information about the damage cannot be given at the moment. It is also not clear whether this new earthquake on Saturday was an aftershock of two earthquakes that occurred near Manay City (Mindanao region) on Friday.

people spent the night in the open
Fearing aftershocks, people in many coastal areas of Mindanao island slept in the open overnight, so that they could be safe in case buildings collapsed. The Philippine Seismological Office said that more than 800 aftershocks have been recorded since the first earthquake. Due to the presence of many major fault lines in the Mindanao region, such tremors can continue for weeks.

There was a deadly earthquake just a few days ago
The series of earthquakes follows a 6.9-magnitude quake that struck just days earlier, killing 75 people and injuring more than 1,000 in Cebu province, according to government data.
