The match between India and Pakistan in Sultan Johar Cup 2025 ended in a 3-3 draw. At one time in the third quarter, Pakistan had established a 2-0 lead, but in the last 20 minutes of the game, Indian players performed strongly and scored 3 goals. In the last 5 minutes, Pakistan converted a penalty corner and made the match a draw.

This was the third match of both the teams in Johar Cup. India got a penalty corner in the fourth minute itself, but the goal could not be scored. In the very next minute, Pakistan got a penalty stroke. The Pakistani player did not make any mistakes and took a 1-0 lead. After that the first quarter remained goalless. In the second quarter, Indian player Imol Ikka got a yellow card, due to which he remained sitting out of the field for some time. Despite this, Pakistan could not score any goal in the second quarter.

In the third quarter, Pakistan’s Sufiyan Khan gave Pakistan a 2-0 lead. It was just a matter of time when Arajit Singh Hundal converted the penalty stroke into a goal and brought India back into the match and the score became 2-1 in favor of Pakistan. The same score remained till the end of the third quarter.

The Indian team looked in great rhythm in the fourth and final quarter. In the very second minute, the Indian team leveled the match at 2-2. Just 5 minutes later, Manmeet Singh scored another goal to give India a 3-2 lead. But when 5 minutes were left for the match to end, Sufiyan Khan scored a goal and made Pakistan equal 3-3.

Let us remind you that before this match, Indian and Pakistani players had given high-five to each other, which is being linked to the ‘handshake controversy’. Earlier, in the Asia Cup and Women’s ODI World Cup, Indian players had adopted a policy of not shaking hands with Pakistani players. But before this hockey match, both the teams gave high-five to each other.
