The cabinet led by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is likely to be expanded before Diwali 2025. This means that there may be a change in the cabinet of Gujarat in the next five days. Sources from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have given this information.

A senior BJP leader said on Tuesday (October 14) that the state may get about 10 new ministers in the cabinet expansion.

Fear of replacement of more than half of the ministers

According to the report of news agency PTI, the leader, on the condition of not disclosing his identity, said that in the upcoming cabinet expansion and reshuffle, about half of the existing ministers are likely to be changed. Gujarat cabinet expansion may happen before October 18

The leader said, ‘There is a possibility that about 50 percent of the ministers of the current cabinet may be changed. Cabinet expansion or reshuffle can happen before October 18. There is a possibility that after this expansion, Gujarat may get 10 new ministers.

Earlier this month (October 2025), Jagdish Vishwakarma, Minister of State in the Gujarat government, was made the new president of the Gujarat unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party, replacing Union Minister CR Patil.

Bhupendra Patel becomes CM of Gujarat for the second time

There can be a maximum of 27 ministers in the 182-member Gujarat Assembly. Bhupendra Patel took oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat for the second time on December 12, 2022.
