According to the information, Ahmedabad is going to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games. Its official announcement is expected in November. This will be confirmed at the General Assembly of the Commonwealth Games Federation in Glasgow on 26 November, which is now being considered a mere formality.

This will be the second time that India will host the Commonwealth Games. Earlier in 2010, these games were organized brilliantly in Delhi, which proved India’s hosting capability to the whole world. These games to be held in Ahmedabad will provide a big opportunity to the young players of the country and the sports infrastructure will take new heights.

India’s top medal winner, Jaspal Rana is at the forefront

The player who has won the most medals for India in the Commonwealth Games is Jaspal Rana. This veteran shooting player has won a total of 15 medals, which include 9 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze. Rana gave India a new identity in shooting in the 1990s and early 2000s. His consistency and performance strengthened Indian shooting at the international level.

After Jaspal Rana, the second name that comes is that of table tennis star Achanta Sharath Kamal. He has won 13 medals so far – 7 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze. Anjali Bhagwat’s charm among women

Shooter Anjali Bhagwat’s name comes at the top as India’s most successful female player. He has won 10 medals, out of which he has won gold medal 6 times, silver medal 3 times and bronze medal once.

After him, shooter Vijay Kumar has won 8 medals in Commonwealth, while Sanjeev Rajput has won 7 medals, which include 3 gold, 3 silver and one bronze medal.

India’s Commonwealth journey so far

India’s Commonwealth Games history has been illustrious. The country has won 564 medals so far – 203 gold, 190 silver and 171 bronze. India is the third most successful country in the Commonwealth Games after Australia (2596 medals) and England (2322 medals).
