Healthy habits after cancer: After defeating cancer, if you want a strong comeback in life, then you should make some changes in your lifestyle. A new research has shown that people who have recovered from cancer adopt the right catering and exercise habits by the American Cancer Society (ACS), they can make their age longer and better.
This study is published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute. It was told that those who do not smoke and adopt the healthy lifestyle guidelines of ACS after recovering from cancer, reduce the risk of death from heart disease and cancer.

Dr. Ying Wang, Senior Scientist of American Cancer Society, says, after detection of cancer, people start wondering how they should live a healthy life now. Many people want to know what they improve in their habits so that they can live long. The best way to this was ACS in 2022 in its health guideline. You can live a healthy life by adopting this new guideline.

What was found in study
In a long study, which started in 1992, more than 3,700 cancer survivors were followed for more than 15 years. These people were suffering from those types of cancer that are attached to obesity, such as stomach, intestine, liver, breast, uterus and blood cancer. Among those who followed the guideline closely, the risk of death was 24% less due to any reason. Due to this, the risk of death from heart disease was found to be 33% and the risk of death from cancer was reduced by 21%.
What habits benefit
According to the study, the risk of death was 10% lower among people who were correct BMI (Body Mass Index), among those who exercised in the week, the risk of death was 22% and the risk of death from heart disease was 26% lower.
What is ACS advice
1. Do light exercises for 150 to 300 minutes every week, such as fast walking, do yoga or faster exercise for 70 to 150 minutes, such as running, aerobics
2. Avoid sitting for a long time, keep the body as much as possible.
3. Eat more fruits, vegetables and whole grains.
4. Eat less processed and red meats, sweet drinks, junk food and white flour products.
5. Limit or stop alcohol intake.
6. Keep your weight maintained.
