Hyundai India is bringing a big update for its customers. The company has confirmed that its next-generation infotainment system will be provided in the upcoming Hyundai Exter facelift. This updated model will be introduced in the Indian market in early 2027. In this facelift version, not only technical changes will be made, but the internal features and user experience of the car will also be completely redesigned.

Will get new infotainment system

  • Hyundai said that the new Exter facelift will be the company’s first A+ segment SUV which will get an infotainment platform based on Android Auto Operating System (AAOS). This system will include two large digital screens – a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment display and a 9.9-inch digital instrument cluster. Both screens will run on Google’s Android Auto OS, making the Exter India’s first mass-market car to be based entirely on Google’s software system.
  • Till now this technology was seen only in luxury cars like Volvo, but Hyundai is going to make it available for common customers also. The biggest feature of this new system is that it will be able to update its software and maps itself through Over-The-Air (OTA) updates. Additionally, there will also be integration of third-party apps like streaming, music and navigation services, making the driving experience smarter than ever.

Interior will be more premium than before

  • Apart from the infotainment upgrade, Hyundai has also made several improvements to the interior of the Exter facelift. The cabin will now look even better with new seat upholstery, better quality cabin materials and some extra safety features. However, the company has also clarified that the basic design structure of the cabin will not change much.

Minor changes possible in design and engine

  • Hyundai has not yet released any picture or teaser related to the exterior look of the Exter facelift, but it is expected that its design will be inspired by Hyundai’s new generation cars like Venue (Next-Gen). In terms of engine, the company can continue with the existing setup. It will be provided with a 1.2-litre 83hp petrol engine, which will come with both 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. Apart from this, a 69hp CNG version may also be introduced, which is currently available only in manual transmission.

The biggest feature of Hyundai Exter facelift

  • The most special aspect of the new Hyundai Exter facelift will be its infotainment system running on Android Auto OS. Along with this, two large digital screens, facility for OTA updates and third-party app integration will make it a tech-centric car. Additionally, Hyundai’s reliable quality and new design language will make this SUV an even stronger contender in its segment.
