Medical science new technology: Science and technology are continuously touching new heights. Especially in medical science, some new discovery keeps emerging every day, which proves to be of great help to both patients and doctors. Now two such new technologies are in discussion, with the help of which a person will be able to see for himself what is going on inside his body. Chinese researchers in collaboration with Northwestern University have developed a special crystal camera. This camera is made of Perovskite Crystal and its specialty is that it is very fast in capturing gamma rays. In medical science, gamma rays are used for special types of tests and scanning.
With the help of this crystal camera, doctors can easily see the heartbeat, blood flow and diseases hidden inside the body. This means that now information about what is going on inside the patient’s body will be available more accurately and quickly. With this technology, tests like spectrum scan will become more advanced and reliable. Researchers believe that this technology will prove to be very helpful for doctors in the future in detecting serious diseases like cancer and heart disease.
Medical revolution in Delhi also
A new revolution has taken place in the world of medical science even in the country’s capital Delhi. Patients in Safdarjung Hospital and Vardhaman Mahavir Medical College have now got the facility to see their body in 3D. For this, an advanced machine named Anatomage Table has been installed in the hospital. This table converts CT and MRI scans of any patient into a digital 3D model. This means that now patients can see their heart, bones and tissues in a real-like 3D picture. Dr. Sandeep Bansal, Director of Safdarjung Hospital, says that with this technology, patients will be able to understand their disease and treatment better. Before the operation, they will be able to clearly see what the doctors are saying and the fear they have in their mind will also reduce to a great extent.
Game changer for doctors too
This technology is no less than a big revolution for doctors also. Surgeons can now practice virtually before going to the operating room. They can see in advance where cuts need to be made and what problems they may face. This will reduce the risk of operation and the chances of survival of the patient will increase. Radiologists can also use this technology to see the progression of the patient’s disease in 3D and make proper treatment planning. With this, both diagnosis and treatment will become more advanced and accurate.
Medical students will get benefit
Not only this, this technology is also very beneficial for medical students. They can perform virtual dissection on digital dead bodies. This will give them a chance to understand every layer of the body easily. Students will also be able to know about rare diseases which they do not often get a chance to see during their studies through this virtual technology. This means that even without a cadaver, medical education will become better. Explaining the importance of this technology, a senior doctor said that now the patients will not just be the ones taking treatment, but will become an active part along with the doctors in understanding their disease and taking decisions.
