Sunny Deol’s difficult journey remembered on his 68th birthday
The actor is celebrating his 68th birthday on Sunday. He was born in Punjab to actor Dharmendra and his first wife Prakash Kaur. The actor wanted to work in films since childhood after seeing his father and being a star kid, Sunny did not have to work hard to enter films. Sunny Deol’s childhood was a bit difficult because he had dyslexia, due to which he had trouble in reading, writing and even remembering. He himself had revealed that due to this disease he had to be beaten many times.

Very few people know that Sunny’s real name is Ajay Singh, but before entering films, Dharmendra changed his name to Sunny Deol. This name also suited him and he gave back-to-back hit films in the industry. Sunny Deol is the son of veteran actor Dharmendra and acting is in his blood, but before debuting in Hindi cinema, he did an acting course. He learned the skills of acting at the Old World Theater in Birmingham and made his debut by honing his art.

However, Sunny had to face a lot of scolding from Dharmendra during her film. He used to train Sunny like a schoolboy. While narrating an anecdote, Dharmendra himself had told that Sunny had to face a lot of scolding for his first film ‘Betaab’.

He had revealed that Sunny had completed the dubbing of the film and when I heard the dubbing, I got very angry. The dubbing was very bad. That’s why I got the entire film dubbed again by Sunny. During the film Betaab, Dharmendra used to make Sunny sit and dub the film all night long and the actor’s condition became like that of a school child.

Dharmendra taught a lot to both his sons at every opportunity since their entry in Bollywood, and perhaps this is the reason that today both the sons are taking their father’s legacy forward.
