The match is being played today between the teams of India and England in the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup. Both the teams are facing each other at Holkar Stadium in Indore. After playing first, England scored 288 runs for 8 wickets in 50 overs. However, at one time it seemed that the English team would easily cross 300, but in the last overs, Team India made a strong comeback. Especially Deepti Sharma turned the game of the match by taking 4 wickets.
Heather Knight, playing her 300th international match, played 91 balls during the stormy batting and during this she hit 15 fours and one six. In this way she scored her third ODI century and her best score so far in Women’s ODI. Heather Knight played an inning of 109 runs in 91 balls.
For India too, reliable bowler Deepti Sharma bowled excellently. Whenever captain Harmanpreet Kaur asked Deepti to take the wicket, this experienced off-spinner lived up to her trust. He took four wickets for 51 runs, which is his best performance so far in an ODI World Cup match.
The captain did not make Deepti bowl till the 16th over. Deepti took her 150th wicket by dismissing Tammy Beaumont (22) in the 16th over and then dismissed Amy as well. Deepti helped curb England’s run rate by dismissing Emma Lamb (11) and Alice Capsey (02) at the end of the innings.
Former captain Knight rotated the strike brilliantly and made a partnership of 113 runs in 106 balls with captain Natalie Sciver-Brunt (38). Both were hitting boundaries with ease, due to which England was moving towards a strong score. Earlier, the opener and Beaumont played the first 10 overs successfully for the first time in this tournament and made a partnership of 77 runs for the first wicket. But left-arm spinner Sri Charani (2 wickets for 68 runs) dismissed Sciver-Brunt and after this England’s batting disintegrated under pressure.
His problems increased further when Knight was run out on an accurate throw by Sneh Rana in the 45th over. After this, India completely dominated England and the weaknesses of their middle order were once again exposed by losing five wickets in the last 10 overs.
