The decision of Prashant Kishore, founder of Jan Suraj Andolan, not to contest the elections amid Bihar Assembly elections 2025, has created a stir in the political circles. Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief and Union Minister Chirag Paswan has given a strong reaction to this decision. Chirag Paswan said that if you cannot come forward and lead then how will the party trust you? Prashant ji’s decision will break the confidence of party workers.”
He also said that when a leader himself hesitates to enter the field, disappointment spreads among the workers.
In his statement, Chirag Paswan raised questions on the political strategy of Prashant Kishor and said that leadership does not only mean making plans, but also getting down to the ground and living among the people.

Elections on 243 assembly seats
Bihar Assembly elections 2025 have now reached their decisive turn. Out of 243 assembly seats in the state, the nomination process for 122 seats in the second phase was completed on Monday. With this, the last date for withdrawal of names on 121 seats of the first phase has also ended. The first phase of voting in Bihar will be held on November 6, while the second phase of voting is scheduled for November 11. Election results will be declared on 14 November. Now the atmosphere among political parties and candidates has become completely electoral. The phase of public meetings, campaign campaigns and debates on local issues has intensified.
1314 candidates are in the fray in the first phase
According to the data shared by the Election Commission, a total of 1375 candidates had filed nominations in the first phase. After the scrutiny process, all the nominations were found to be correct, but later 61 candidates withdrew their names. Now 1314 candidates are in the fray for 121 seats in the first phase, who will try their luck on November 6. These include candidates from various parties as well as a large number of independent candidates.
