US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin are scheduled to meet in Alaska on Friday (15 August 2025). The main objective of this meeting is the end of the Russia-Ukraine War. If this meeting is successful in achieving its goal, then due to the import of Russian oil, 25 percent of additional tariffs imposed on India can be avoided on India.
What did Putin say before meeting Trump?
Trump has hoped to compromise with the President of Russia in an interview to Fox Radio. At the same time, Putin has said that Trump is trying honestly to end the Russia-Ukraine war. If there is a peace agreement through the summit, then India can avoid the oil fee levied on August 27. However, the meeting between Putin-Trump is not attending Ukraine’s President Volodimir Jailonski.
Jailonski will not attend Trump-Putin meeting
Ukrainian President Jailonsky recently met British Prime Minister Kir Stmper. The two leaders said in a joint statement that Trump-Putin talks presents a viable opportunity of progress, provided Putin takes steps to prove that he is serious about peace. Jailonski is undoubtedly not part of the meeting between Trump and Putin, but he has said that everything related to Ukraine should be taken from Ukraine’s participation.
US President Donald Trump has also said that the final agreement is to be done by the President Jailonsky and Putin. Trump has said that his meeting with Putin in Alaska will decide the outline of the next round meeting. The next meeting will probably be held in Alaska and it may also include the President of Ukraine Jailnsky.
The US President has said that the second round of talks will be more important. Apart from the President of my, Russia and Ukraine, many European leaders can also be involved. European countries like Britain, France, Germany, Italy and Poland have appreciated the US President’s effort to end the Russia-Ukraine war.
