In an interview on JioHotstar, Arshdeep told that when he did not get a place in the playing 11 in the first match of Champions Trophy 2025, he started feeling very bored. India played four spinners in the entire tournament due to spin-friendly pitches, due to which Arshdeep had to sit on the bench.
Arshdeep said, “When I came to know that I will not play the first match, I was getting very bored in the room. That’s when I started my YouTube channel. It became a blessing in disguise for me.” He further said, “Sometimes you just have to be thankful that you are playing at this level. Opportunities come, it is just important that when the opportunity comes, you do not let it go. I always look for positivity even in difficult situations, and this thinking helps me move forward.”
Virat Kohli’s reel went viral
Recently, one of his reels with Virat Kohli went viral on the internet. This reel got more than 132 million views. This video was made after that match when Kohli missed the third century after scoring two consecutive centuries and returned unbeaten on 65 runs.
Arshdeep jokingly said, “Paaji, if the runs were less then today the century would have been certain.”
Kohli immediately gave a funny reply, “Thankfully you won the toss, otherwise you too were sure of dew.” This funny banter between them was very much liked on social media.
Kohli’s amazing performance in the series
Virat Kohli may not have been able to score his third consecutive century in the series-deciding ODI, but he played a match-winning inning of 65 not out. India is currently ahead after defeating South Africa in 1 match. Arshdeep also waited for the opportunity and won the trust of the team management with his brilliant performance.
