The deepening suspense over the death of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has now become a topic of discussion across the world. Imran Khan’s son Qasim Khan has asked Shahbaz government for proof of his father being alive. Meanwhile, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said that a question has been raised on hiding the truth about Imran Khan’s health. He said that a person is at stake and many people including cricket fans want to know what happened to him.
‘No one has given proof of Imran being alive’
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said, “It would not be right to comment on the internal affairs of another country, but it is definitely a matter of concern that there is so much silence on this matter. Many people are claiming that very bad has happened to them, but the Pakistan government and officials have not said anything. This silence is bad. His son had said that he wants proof of his father being alive. Till now no one has given any proof of his father being alive. It is a matter of concern.”
‘Pakistani government should give clarification’
He said, “This is an internal matter of Pakistan, but a human being is at stake. There are cricket fans and other people who would like to know what happened to him. You cannot put someone in jail and make him disappear, so if something has happened, I think the authorities should come clean on it.”
Police prevented Imran Khan’s family from meeting him
No one from Imran Khan’s family or his supporters is being allowed to meet him. Sohail Afridi, the only Chief Minister from his party, was also not allowed to meet him and was stopped outside the jail. Imran Khan’s sisters Noreen Niazi, Alima Khan and Dr. Uzma Khan along with other members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were sitting outside the jail for the past one month, after which the policemen beat them up.
