A U-Haul truck rammed into a rally of people demanding independence from Iran in Los Angeles city of America on Sunday (January 11). This incident took place in the Westwood area, where a large number of people were marching in support of anti-government protests waving the Iranian flag.
According to CBS News, the truck moved towards the protesters at high speed, due to which people started running here and there to save their lives. The banner on the outer walls of the truck read – No Shah, No Regime, America 1953, do not repeat. The situation went out of control immediately after this accident. Angry protesters broke the windows of the truck.
Police detained the accused
The video footage showed that people were shouting and trying to attack the truck driver and were hitting the truck with flag poles. Los Angeles Police brought the situation under control after hard work. Policemen took the truck driver out and detained him. While he was being taken, protesters were seen trying to attack him, after which the police had to push the crowd back.
More than 500 people died in Iran
According to Los Angeles Fire Department, 3 people have been injured in this incident. After investigation, two people refused to go to the hospital, while the condition of the third injured is critical. Let us tell you that this incident has come to light at a time when anti-government protests have been going on in Iran for the last 2 weeks. According to human rights organizations, more than 500 people have died in these protests so far. Street protests continue in Tehran and other big cities.
