Microsoft Layoff: The world’s biggest tech company Microsoft is once again in the headlines. It is being told that the company is planning to lay off 22000 employees in January 2026. However, clarifying its stand on this, the company has said that these news are not true, they are mere speculations.
CEO told the truth
Microsoft Chief Communications Officer Frank X. Shaw said that these rumors are 100 percent fabricated and false. These rumors started spreading after an article published in TipRanks, due to which thousands of employees became tense. In some posts, it was even claimed that Microsoft may cut its workforce by 5% to 10%, which would mean layoff of 11000 to 22000 employees. It was told that this time Azure, Xbox and Global Sales teams may be affected. Taking a dig at these rumours, Frank X. Shaw said that things will be confirmed soon. “I am eagerly waiting for this,” he said jokingly.
15000 employees laid off
Last year, Microsoft laid off more than 15,000 employees worldwide. First of all, 9000 workers were laid off from work in July. Earlier in May, 6800 people were laid off. However, this layoff did not have any impact on the company’s business, rather it became stronger than before and the market value of the company also increased to more than 4 trillion dollars. In fact, Microsoft has continued its investment in Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud services and enterprise software. Due to this, investors’ confidence in the company remains intact. The company’s CEO Satya Nadella has also talked about investment of 3 billion dollars i.e. Rs 25722 crore in India in the next two years.
