Aaadhaar update rules 2025: With the beginning of the month of November, changes in many rules related to common citizens have also come into effect in the country. The new rules brought by the government are going to have a direct impact on the common people. These changes have been made mainly in the rules related to banking and Aadhaar. Some important changes are being made by UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) from November 1.
Under these changes, now Aadhar card holders can change their name, mobile number, date of birth and address anytime. Now there will be no need to go to Aadhaar center to make changes in these. Under the new rules, you can make these changes online from anywhere. Mainly UIDAI has made three changes related to Aadhaar. The objective of which is to provide faster and easier access to Aadhaar related services.
Increase in fees for Aadhaar services
Information has been given by UIDAI that the fees for Aadhaar services have been changed. Consumers will now have to pay Rs 125 for biometric update i.e. fingerprint, iris or photo. Earlier a fee of Rs 100 was charged for this.
Whereas for demographic update, a fee of Rs 75 will be charged. Under demographic update, the name, address, date of birth, mobile number etc. of the Aadhar card holder is changed. Earlier, UIDAI used to charge Rs 50 for this change.
Aadhaar link is necessary
The last date for linking Aadhaar and PAN has been fixed by the government as December 31, 2025. If you do not link your Aadhaar with PAN within the stipulated time, your PAN card will become inoperative from January 1, 2026. That means you will be unable to do any work related to PAN card.
Rules for Aadhaar update
Under the demographic update, Aadhaar card holders will not need to visit Aadhaar center to change information like name, address, date of birth and mobile number. You can update it online sitting at home. Under the new system, cardholders can make these changes directly through the MyAadhaar portal. However, for this, their Aadhaar should be linked to an active mobile number.
