Delhi mcd mayor election 2025: Former Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Atishi has made a big announcement regarding the election of Delhi Municipal Corporation. He has said that the Aam Aadmi Party will not contest the election of mayor. Atish said that wherever the BJP loses the election, there is a lot of opinion. BJP breaks other parties and form a government. The MCD was re-united and got 272 to 250 wards, elections were delayed, MCD D-Limitation was done. MCD was elected with Gujarat elections. Still ‘AAP’ brought a majority in MCD.
Atishi further said, “None of his efforts was successful. The BJP has taken pressure on the common councilors for the last two and a half years and took it to the BJP. We respect the people of Delhi, do not buy and break any MLA and councilor. Aam Aadmi Party will not contest the election of mayor.”
He said that the BJP has increased its number after breaking the councilors, but we have not done all this nor we do, so the Aam Aadmi Party decided not to contest the mayor elections. Let the BJP show what he can do for Delhiites.
Triple engine government in Delhi, one engine LG-Saurabh Bhardwaj
At the same time, ‘AAP’ state president Saurabh Bhardwaj said, “BJP is desperate about power in Delhi, when MCD was to be elected, D-Limitation was conducted. But, still 134 seats were won by the Aam Aadmi Party and 104 seats won the BJP.” He said that BJP should form its government. Delhi has a triple engine government, an engine is LG.
Saurabh Bhardwaj further said, “BJP has no excuse now, the government of triple engine will have full opportunity, work for Delhiites.
BJP reversed AAP’s decision
BJP has also responded to this matter. Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said, “The Aam Aadmi Party knows that it has not only lost a majority in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, but has stalled both the administrative and maintenance work of the Municipal Corporation in the last two and a half years. So now the Aam Aadmi Party is pretending to renounce and it is possible that you and the Congress should cool down from here.”
