Aamir Khan’s nephew Imran Khan made a comeback in Bollywood with the film Happy Patel. Recently he talked about actors charging high fees. He told that because of this the budget of films increases.
‘Stars are exploiting the system’
Speaking to ETimes, Imran Khan said, ‘I think we have now reached a point where stars are exploiting the system. What my uncle Aamir taught me and what I saw from my generation is that he himself used to invest in films. I don’t mean that he was opening his purse and investing money in the film. Rather, he used to take personal responsibility of the film.
The budget of the film increases due to high fees- Imran Khan
He further said, ‘If I come to know that the budget of my film is 30 crores and I charge 40 crores, then now your film becomes 70 crores. 30 crore film and 40 crore my personal salary. Do I care? I should care about this. This is my film. I feel that if your film has the potential to do well then you should charge less up front. And one should take a chance on that film. If anyone can do this then he is a star.
Imran praised Aamir Khan
He further said, ‘This is stupidity and by charging more fees you are making your film handicapped. You are exploiting your film and aggrandizing yourself personally. It is true. And it’s like you don’t believe in that film.
Apart from this, Imran praised his maternal uncle Aamir. He said that Aamir Khan never charged much fees. Instead they do backend deals.
