A clear and inspiring vision of India’s future emerged in the India 2047 Youth Conclave organized by ABP Network. This program was addressed by Sumant Dutta, CEO of ABP Network and gave a clear, inspiring and responsible message about the future of India. He said that this conference is not just an event, but a symbol of the responsibility of an entire generation.
In his address, Sumant Dutta recalled the circumstances of India after independence. He said that in 1947 the literacy rate of the country was only 12 percent and the economy was very weak. Despite severe shortage of resources, the youth of that era did not lose courage. He built the railway network, laid the foundation of public enterprises, wrote the Constitution and strengthened democracy. In the same period, media institutions played an important role in nation building by asking questions and giving direction to public opinion. Today’s India presents a completely different picture from that period.

CEO Sumant Dutta said that at present more than 65 percent of the country’s population is below 35 years of age. India has become the fifth largest economy in the world and has the third largest startup ecosystem in the world with more than 100 unicorns. He clearly said that this change is not a coincidence, but is the result of the combination of the ambition of the youth and the right opportunities.

Sumant Dutta emphasized on four big areas that will shape the future of India. He said that India is progressing rapidly in terms of economic leadership. Indian youth have now become not just adopters but also leaders in technology and innovation. India’s global identity is being strengthened through culture and soft power. He described sports as a symbol of national confidence. Giving the example of Neeraj Chopra’s Olympic gold medal, he said that it was not just a medal, but a change in thinking. This sent the message that even an Indian coming from a small town can become the best in the world.
What did the CEO say about Artificial Intelligence?
Sumant Dutta said that by 2047, India’s working population is likely to be around one billion. If this population becomes skilled and capable then it will become the biggest strength of the country, but if employment and skill opportunities are not available then this population can turn under pressure. Today, Indian youth are making their mark globally in areas like Artificial Intelligence, Fintech, Startups and Space Technology.
‘The journey till 2047 is not easy’
However, Sumant Dutta also made it clear that the journey till 2047 is not easy. Issues like large-scale employment generation, skill gap between education and industry, low female workforce participation, challenge of climate change and mental health of youth are matters of serious concern. He said that the dream of developed India cannot be fulfilled by ignoring these problems.
CEO’s appeal to youth
At the end of the address, Sumant Dutta appealed to the youth not to just wait for opportunities, but to lead the change. He said that ABP Network will continue to provide a national platform to the voices of the youth, because the India of 2047 will be shaped by the thinking, decisions and actions of today’s youth.
