57 -year -old Navjot Singh, who was posted as Deputy Secretary in the Economic Affairs Department of the Finance Ministry on Sunday (September 15, 2025) in Delhi, was hit by a BMW car, injuring his wife and died. In this case, the police arrested Gaganpreet Kaur on Monday. A case has been registered against him under sections of culpable homicide and attempt to destroy evidence after the accident.
In the case of Navjot Singh’s death, his injured wife Sandeep Kaur has made serious allegations. He has said that Navjot’s breath was going on after the accident, but even after he said, the BMW car riders took him to the hospital 19 km away. The accident happened with Navjot when he was returning from Bangla Sahib Gurdwara with wife Sandeep Kaur. After returning from Bangla Sahib Gurdwara, both of them had dinner in Karnataka Bhavan and then were going back home. Meanwhile, Gaganpreet Kaur’s BMW car collided from behind her bike. Navjot Singh died in this collision, while Sandeep Kaur was seriously injured.
Despite the appeal, he took away the distant hospitals
Sandeep Kaur told the police that after the accident, he repeatedly appealed to Gaganpreet to take the nearest hospital, but Gaganpreet asked the van driver to take Nulife Hospital GTB Nagar. This hospital was about 19 km away. Investigation has revealed that Gaganpreet’s father is the co-owner of the hospital. The police is also investigating whether there was any attempt to suppress the matter.
Fear of hiding evidence
According to police sources, Gaganpreet brought Navjot and Sandeep to Nulife Hospital so that medical reports and other evidence could be tampered with. The hospital administration says that all the rules were followed, but they did not confirm Gaganpreet’s family to have a relationship with the hospital.
