The Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested a shooter of the notorious Rohit Godara and Goldie Brar Virendra Charan gang. The arrested accused has been identified as Deepak alias Dilawar. Who is a resident of Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh. Police have also recovered a loaded semi-automatic pistol and 5 live cartridges from his hideout. In this matter, a case has been registered under the Arms Act in the Special Cell police station.
According to the police, Rohit Godara, Goldie Brar, Virendra Charan gang had been demanding extortion money by threatening businessmen in many states including Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan for some time. In December 2025, this gang member Virendra Charan had demanded extortion money of Rs 10 crore from a jeweler in Delhi.
A case was registered in Amar Colony police station and later the investigation was handed over to the Special Cell. During the investigation, the police arrested five accused named Rohit, Rahul, Laxman, Mohit alias Cherry and Pankaj Rajput. Among these, Pankaj Rajput is a notorious criminal of Punjab, against whom more than 20 criminal cases are registered.
There was firing on a travel company in Punjab
During interrogation, the police got another big information. It was revealed that in 2025, Virendra Charan had demanded extortion money of Rs 5 crore from Manish Bakshi, owner of Bakshi Travel Company in Nakodar city of Punjab. When the money was not received, the gang opened fire on the travel company’s office on January 13, 2026 to create pressure. In this matter, a case was also registered in Nakodar police station of Punjab.
This is how the shooter was caught
During investigation, the police identified three shooters who opened fire, one of whom was Deepak alias Dilawar. He had absconded after the incident. The Special Cell activated its informers and gathered information by sending teams to Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. During this time it was revealed that the accused was hiding in Sainik Vihar area of Delhi. On March 23, 2026, the police team raided Sainik Vihar and arrested him. A loaded pistol and five live cartridges were also recovered from his spot.
Orders were received through encrypted chat
During interrogation, the accused revealed that gangster Pankaj Rajput had given him weapons and introduced him to gang leader Virendra Charan through an encrypted chat platform. After this, Virendra Charan himself ordered him to open fire on Bakshi Travel Company in Nakodar. The accused also told that he was trying to create his network in Delhi on the instructions of the gang.
Further investigation by Delhi Police continues
Delhi Police says that through this arrest important information has been obtained about the activities of the gang. Police are now conducting raids in search of other people associated with this network.
